Statistics

We run a comprehensive statistics program for our users. It includes logging of referrers, hits, session and more. Visit the control panel to view your statistics. Your Server ID to login to the statistics is your username. The statistics are usually about 6 hours behind in recording your statistics.

If you wish to password protect your statistics you can do so by logging in to the statistics and clicking on 'Virtual Admin'.

Password protecting

One of the options in the Windows 2000 control panel is to password protect directories. This means you can make an area of your website protected by a user/pass, so noone can simply access it via HTTP. This does NOT setup a separate FTP login.

File permissions

There are two options for changing file permissions on Win2000 through the control panel.

The first is 'Set Write Permissions'. This gives the NT User 'Everyone' modify permissions over the file or directory you specify. This is usually used for writing to a text file or html file.

The second is 'Change Database Permissions'. This gives the NT User 'IUSR' modify permissions over the file or directory you specify. This is usually used for writing to a database file such as Access. With Access files you must put them in the directory and give the directory IUSR permissions, this is because when you open Access files a temporary database file is created which must inherit the correct permissions.
